Job descriptions:

Office Administrator

The Office Administrator completes clerical and administrative tasks for the business.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Write Purchase Orders (Pos) on a weekly basis.
  • Maintain inventory of office and toiletry supplies (may require driving off-site to pick up supplies as needed).
  • Plant and Delivery Schedule
  • Record write offs
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Manage agendas, travel plans and appointments for upper management
  • preparing documents, including office correspondence, memos

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years office administration experience.
  • Proficient in a variety of computer software applications including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point).
  • Intermediate math skills.
  • Strong multi-tasking and time-management skills.
  • Plant knowledge desired.
  • Team oriented and able to work under the direction of the Manager
  • Reliable transportation

Physical requirements of the job:

  • The ability to lift 20lbs repeatedly for at least 4 hours a day.
  • Kneeling, crouching, and squatting.
  • Pushing or pulling objects.
  • Bending/stooping.

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent or industry experience.

 

Sales Associate

The Sales Associate provides customer service, product knowledge and sales support for all customers. This individual strives to achieve Round Rock Center goals and objectives in service, sales, and productivity.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Greets and receives customers in a welcoming manner.
  • Ensures each customer receives outstanding customer service.
  • Drives sales through engagement of customers, suggestive selling, responding to questions and sharing product knowledge.
  • Helps locate plants/products for customers.
  • Escorts customers to tables, beds, counters and other displays.
  • Alerts management of potential security issues.
  • Assists with inventory, including receiving and stocking merchandise.
  • Ensures displays are clean, organized and appealing.
  • Occasional cashier duties, including documenting sales by creating or updating customer profile records.
  • Accurately and efficiently completes sales transactions and maintains proper accountability on register.
  • Keeps customers informed by notifying them of preferred customer sales and future merchandise of potential interest.
  • Moving, loading, and unloading plants
  • Watering plants as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the manager/lead.
  • Regular and reliable attendance; arriving as scheduled and ready for the day at work
  • At least 1 weekend day shift (Saturday or Sunday) is required per week from February to May.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate with customers, other peers, and management.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and to multi-task.
  • Ability to receive and address complaints and problems as they arise from customers.
  • Basic plant knowledge or the willingness to learn about plants and gardening.
  • Team oriented and able to work under the direction of the Manager and/or Leads.
  • The ability to work outside in various weather elements.
  • Follow all applicable safety rules and procedures.
  • Nursery experience not required but extremely helpful.
  • Reliable transportation

Physical requirements of the job:

  • The ability to walk/stand on your feet for up to 10 hours per day.
  • The ability to lift up to 50lbs.
  • The ability to lift 20lbs repeatedly for at least 4 hours.
  • Kneeling, crouching, and squatting.
  • Pushing or pulling objects.
  • Bending/stooping.

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED

 

Nursery Assistant

Reporting directly to the general manager, the nursery assistant works in all areas of the garden center by providing support with various assignments and special projects. This position is physically demanding and requires the ability to work for extended periods of time, up to 10 hours a day. The nursery assistant’s main priority is to assist management with day-to-day duties geared towards operational excellence

Job Responsibilities:

  • Duties include unloading trucks, stocking/restocking merchandise, and placing plants out on the sales floor.
  • Assist with assembly, setup, and disassembly of product displays and equipment.
  • Assist with keeping receiving areas, aisles, and racks free of hazards or obstructions.
  • Ensure displays are clean, organized, and appealing.
  • Follow all applicable safety rules and procedures.
  • Customer assistance as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a Garden Center preferred but not required.
  • Experience with power tools, hand tools, and other equipment preferred.
  • Must be hard-working, friendly, and organized.
  • Must be flexible and willing to adapt to shifting priorities and projects.
  • Ability to communicate with management, peers and customers.
  • Team oriented and able to work under the direction of the Manager and/or Leads.
  • Ability to work outside in various weather elements.
  • Must have reliable transportation and attendance.

Weekend Cashier

Cashier responsibilities include receiving payments and issuing receipts, carry-out, and keeping track of all cash and credit transactions. Previous experience in customer service and knowledge of POS systems is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities 

  •  Manage transactions with customers using the RRGC POS system
  •  Scan goods and ensure pricing is accurate
  • Collect payments whether in cash or credit
  • Issue receipts, change, or gift certificates
  • Redeem coupons
  • Cross-sell products and introduce new ones
  • Resolve customer complaints, guide them and provide relevant information
  • Greet customers when entering or leaving the store
  • Maintain clean and tidy checkout areas.
